01 / The Lead Lift |
Your bench may be skipping chest dayThe bar moves. The plates count. Your chest still files a missing-person report. Jay Cutler says the giveaway is what happens before the press: the shoulders round forward, the upper back loses position, and the rep becomes a general push instead of a chest-focused one. His fix is simple: create a comfortable arch, keep the chest as the high point, and use a load you can control without collapsing that setup. | Setup | Shoulder blades stay supported and the chest stays lifted without a painful arch. |
|---|
| Rep | The same position survives the lowering and pressing phases. |
|---|
| Load | You can feel the pecs working without turning the last reps into a new exercise. |
|---|
If the setup disappears, the set is already giving you the answer. Reduce the load, shorten the set, or use a press variation that lets you keep control. The goal is not to win the warm-up room. It is to make the intended muscle do the work. Cutler also favors multiple chest angles, but his cue is not a command to force an extreme powerlifting arch or ignore discomfort. Use a stable, pain-free position that fits your body and equipment. |

02 / Fuel Check |
Find the weekend leak before blaming your metabolismWhat: Audit one Saturday and Sunday with the same honesty you bring to Monday. Include restaurant extras, drinks, sauces, bites, and the snack that somehow never makes the mental receipt. Why: Arnold highlighted research in which people underestimated intake and tended to eat more on weekends. A small surplus does not ruin a week, but repeated uncounted extras can shrink the deficit you thought you created. Try: Keep one anchor meal unchanged across the weekend: a protein source, fruit or vegetables, and a carb portion you already know. Spend the flexible calories where you will actually enjoy them. Limitation: The cited figures are group averages, not a diagnosis. Weight also moves with water, sodium, digestion, and training stress; judge the multi-week trend, not one Monday weigh-in. Lou Ferrigno's five-rule public-gym codeFerrigno's list is less about secret exercises and more about being the person everybody can train beside. Five practical rules for a public gym| Rule | Monday version |
|---|
| Hygiene | Clean kit, deodorant, and a towel. The pump does not need an atmosphere. |
|---|
| Equipment | Set weights down under control; dumbbells remember where your toes live. |
|---|
| Staff | Put things back and make the room easier to run. |
|---|
| Focus | Do not turn your head or start a conversation during a loaded set. |
|---|
| Finish | Cool down if it helps, then eat in a way that supports the work. |
|---|
Ferrigno's stretching and nutrition comments are broad personal guidance, not universal prescriptions. The useful standard is focused reps, controlled equipment, and basic respect. Read all five of Lou Ferrigno's gym pointers |

Andrea Shaw owns the Rising Phoenix stage againResult: Shaw won the Women's Bodybuilding title at the 2026 Rising Phoenix Arizona Pro, earning straight first-place votes and her fifth Rising Phoenix crown. The other champions: Stephanie Jones won Fitness, Cherish Richardson won Figure, Ashley Kaltwasser won Bikini, Marianne Von Gierke won Women's Physique, and Alexis Drury won Wellness. Why it matters: Six divisions and 85 athletes made Phoenix one of the largest women's bodybuilding cards of the season, with Olympia qualifications attached to every class. 05 / One More Rep |
Power met a very human tendon: Larry Wheels dropped Vitaly early, then an apparent right biceps injury stopped the bout. The official result was a no contest; the severity had not been confirmed. Read the fight report. | Patrick Moore filled the Olympia whiteboard: His personal top three is Derek Lunsford, Andrew Jacked, and Samson Dauda. It is an athlete's forecast, not a result, and five weeks can make a prediction look very brave. See Moore's complete top six. |

06 / Monday Assignment Make the first working set boringChoose one press today. Use a load you could control for two extra reps, lock in the same setup before every repetition, and stop the set when that position changes. Write down one thing only: where did the rep first get messy? Fix that on the next set. A boring, repeatable rep beats a heroic rescue. |
