01 / The Lead Lift

Nick Walker punched his Olympia ticket. Now he says he can win it.
Nick Walker did not squeeze past the field at the 2026 Tampa Pro. He won the Men's Open with a 10-point total, ahead of James Hollingshead on 20 and Joseph Palacios on 33, securing his place at the 2026 Mr. Olympia.
Walker said new coach Prabh Dhaliwal restored the confidence he lost after finishing sixth at the 2025 Olympia. He called his Tampa look tighter, fuller, rounder, and drier than his Arnold package. Improve it again, he says, and he wins the Olympia.
Our read: Tampa proves Walker belongs in the title conversation. It does not prove he owns it. The useful signal is that he delivered under a new coaching setup and left with a clear improvement plan instead of another reset.

02 / Fuel Check
Stop trying to beat the protein clock
What: Put one 20 to 40-gram protein serving near today's workout. If your last protein meal was three to four hours ago, eat before training. If you ate within the previous two to three hours, afterward is fine.
Why: Total daily protein matters more than choosing the perfect side of the session. The anabolic window is closer to a garage door than a letter slot.
Try: Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs with dairy, tofu or tempeh, lean meat or fish, or a labelled protein shake. This is general guidance for healthy exercising adults.

The 20-minute full-body minimum
Goal: Full-body muscular fitness and strength-endurance // Level: Intermediate as written
Time: 20 minutes of work, plus a 5 to 10-minute warm-up // Gear: Dumbbell, band, pull-up bar
Twenty-minute full-body workout
| Pair |
Movement |
Work |
| 1A | Goblet squat | 2 x 12-20 |
| 1B | Band good morning | 2 x 10-15 |
| 2A | Band-resisted push-up | 2 x 10-15 |
| 2B | Pull-up | 2 x 10-15 |

| 3B | One-arm dumbbell row | 2 x 10-15/side |
| 4A | Alternating dumbbell swing | 2 x 12-20 total |
| 4B | Band-resisted dead bug | 2 x 12-20 total |
DO EACH PAIR BACK-TO-BACK // REST 60-90 SEC AFTER PAIRS 1, 2, AND 4 // REST 30-60 SEC AFTER PAIR 3
Regress: Use a box squat, incline push-up, assisted pull-up, supported row, dumbbell deadlift, or unbanded dead bug. Progress: Reach the top of each rep range twice with clean form, then add resistance. Stop if a movement causes sharp pain or your form breaks down.

Strongman scoreboard
Johnson defends. Jardine survives a thriller.
What happened: Bryce Johnson won with 95 points, nine ahead of Trey Mitchell. Angelica Jardine took the women's title with 92, only 1.5 ahead of Inez Carrasquillo.
Why it matters: Johnson produced a clear defense. Jardine's margin meant one changed placing could have flipped the title.

Training desk
Sit for volume. Stand for strict-press skill.
What changed: A seated press gives you a stable base for controlled shoulder volume. A standing press better trains the standing lift and whole-body bracing.
Why it matters: Pick the version that matches the job, not whichever looks more hardcore from across the gym.
